SMTX Chess Club is dedicated to spreading the joy of playing chess to people of ALL ages and skill levels, from child to adult and from novice to master. Come say hi!
We meet every Wednesday of every month at the San Marcos Public Library from 6:00 PM to 8:45 PM. We have plenty of boards, sets, and clocks so all you need to bring is yourself!
We are also an official USCF club so we are able to have official USCF rated events periodically. There is a wide range of members starting at beginner and going all the way to near master.

HOW IT WORKS
Show Up
We have sets, board, clocks, tables, and even snacks. There are no membership dues or fees so all you need to do is show up ready to play some chess.
Play Chess
If you are in the Hill Country and want to play chess and meet people then SMTX Chess is the place for you. We welcome ALL ages and skill levels.
Have Fun and Learn
The only thing we ask of our members is to have fun and help create a welcoming environment for everyone to experience the joy of chess.
